What to expect
An Overview of the Year
- In Religion, we will focus on God the Father and Gon the Son. We will learn about parts of the mass, attend school mass weekly, and be introduced to the liturgical seasons. We will also study God’s creations and learn how we are part of God’s family.
- In Language Arts, we will continue to study phonetic and word attack skills to increase reading fluency. We will also continue to develop our reading comprehension skills and improve upon our writing and spelling skills.
- In Math, we will become better problem solvers and develop many strategies for tackling addition and subtraction problems. We will also start mastering our math facts with automaticity.
- In Science and Health, we will learn about the world around us through the study of themed units that are linked across our curriculum. We will apply critical thinking and practice the scientific method.
- In Social Studies, we will compare the past and present and learn how to appreciate our differences. We will find value in the diversity and culture found around the world.
